Meet Danielle
Danielle Carley, M.A., CCC-SLP
OWNER, SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
I founded Collaborative Speech & Language Therapy with a mission to serve not only the child but their whole family. My therapy style is highly integrative, involving caregivers and other professionals to ensure the best therapy outcomes. I believe that speech therapy is a reciprocal relationship-- I learn from each family just as much as I teach them.
I am a certified speech-language pathologist with over 20 years of clinical experience in public schools and in private practice. I earned my B.S. degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and my M.A. degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Hofstra University.
I am a mother of two teenage boys, and the journey has taught me that it is vital to take other parents’ viewpoints, family needs, and parenting styles into account when developing a therapy program for their children. This is the core of what I do, and I look forward to working with your family.
Location
Serving families in Shelton, Monroe, Trumbull, Fairfield, Milford, Newtown, Easton and surrounding areas of Connecticut.
Teletherapy
Online therapy sessions are a convenient and evidence-based way to help your child achieve their goals. All you need is a laptop, computer, or iPad to participate in sessions, wherever you are!
In-Home
We can provide speech and language therapy sessions in your home as research shows that children pick up skills quickly in their natural environment.
Getting Started
STEP ONE
Begin with a free consultation call where you will speak directly with Danielle. During our call, we will answer your questions, discuss your child's communication skills, and determine the most appropriate next steps.
STEP TWO
Attend a speech-language evaluation to identify your child’s areas of strength and need. Evaluations include a parent interview along with formal assessment measures. If you have a recent evaluation in all areas of concern, we will begin by developing a treatment plan and goals.
STEP THREE
Partner with Danielle to develop communication goals for your child, and schedule weekly speech-language therapy sessions to work toward those goals together! Parents are always invited to participate in sessions, and progress will be continually monitored and discussed.
"Children are the priority. Change is the reality. Collaboration is the strategy."
